Republic Day
26 January 1950 is a day on which the Constitution of India came fully into force. The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on Republic Day, and it came into force with a fully democratic system, making the country an independent republic. 26 January was chosen as Republic Day as it was in 1929 when the Declaration of Indian Independence (Indian Swaraj) was declared by the Indian National Congress as a protest against the Dominion status initiated by the British rule.

Republic Day History
India gained independence from the British Rule on 15 August 1947 after the Indian independence movement. On 29 August 1947, a motion was brought for the appointment of a drafting committee, Drs. A draft committee was appointed to draft a permanent constitution headed by Bhimrao Ambedkar. India celebrates Independence Day from British rule, and Republic Day celebrates the enforcement of its constitution.
A constitution was prepared by the committee and introduced before the Constituent Assembly on 4 November 1947. This assembly was held for 166 days, which was open in public sessions for two years, 11 months and 18 days before the adoption of the Constitution. After several deliberations and some amendments, 308 members of the Legislative Assembly signed two copies of the document (Hindi and English) on 24 January 1950. Two days later, it was implemented nationwide on 26 January 1950. Dr Rajendra Prasad's first term as President of India began on the same day. The Constituent Assembly became the Parliament of India under the provisions of the new constitution. This date is celebrated as Republic Day in India.

The Delhi Republic Day Parade is organized by the Ministry of Defense in the capital New Delhi and the President of India salutes. The parade depicts India's defence capability, cultural and social heritage. The Naval Army, Air Force, Indian Army and various army squads of all kinds march in all their nuances and official decorations.

Beating Retreat
Beating Retreat, it is held on the evening of 29 January, the third day after Republic Day. It is performed by a band of three wings of the Army, Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. The chief guest of the ceremony is the President of India. When the President arrives, the National Salute is followed by the Indian National Anthem by the Army.
Prize distribution
On the eve of Republic Day, the President of India distributes prizes to the citizens of India every year. It is the second-highest civilian award in India after the Bharat Ratna. The award is as follows.
The first is India's second-largest civilian award - the Padma Vibhushan for "exceptional and distinguished service".
The third highest civilian award in India is the Padma Bhushan, awarded for "distinguished service of a higher order".
India's fourth-largest civilian award is the Padma Shri, which is awarded for "distinguished service".
